Interstate Life Safety has extensive experience in inspecting and testing all types of fire dampers, smoke dampers, and fire/smoke combination dampers. We will employ every method to omit the ‘arms’ length’ exclusion that others do, and we pride ourselves on locating and servicing many dampers that are often overlooked and left off the maintenance schedule.
A detailed report will be provided of all findings during the inspection. A digital photograph of each damper will be provided in an open and closed position.
Fire, smoke, and combination dampers often comprise the largest component part of the fire barrier system. There are a wide variety of sizes and types, in many locations throughout a facility, and often they are difficult to see and access. Regardless of these challenges, all dampers need to be closely monitored to remain in proper working order in the case of a fire.

- Locate and Operate all Dampers
- Remove and reset fusible link; verify damper fully closes
- Actuate smoke and fire smoke dampers; verify damper fully closes
- Record all fails and non-accessible dampers
- Tag physical location of damper with ID number
- Plot on life safety prints the location of each damper
- All OSHA and infectious control procedures followed
- All inspections will be conducted per NFPA guidelines
